About Orellana la Vieja Municipality

Orellana la Vieja is located in the northeast of the province of Badajoz; being, therefore, in the so-called Baja Extremadura.

The center of the town is close to where the dam of the same name stands on the Guadiana —on its right bank— which supplies water to the Badajoz Plan.

Regarding the situation of the urban center of population within the municipal area, just clarify that it is in an eccentric position, more specifically in the Southeast quadrant.

When analyzing the relative situation of Orellana la Vieja with respect to the provincial administrative capital, it must be considered that since Badajoz is in such an extreme position, the distances between many towns on the opposite side of it are enormous.

This is the case of Orellana la Vieja, 138 km away by road. and in a straight line 125 km. approximately, noting that the difference between the two magnitudes is not very high due to the topographic ease of the layout of the N-430 and N-V roads that run alongside the Guadiana river without having to overcome any notable obstacles.

Let us therefore highlight the enormous distance that separates Orellana from Badajoz, surpassed, however, by other towns in La Serena and Siberia Extremeña.
