Navarredonda Dam and Reservoir

Navarredonda Dam was built in 1997 on the bed of Tamuja River, in the municipality of Zarza de Montánchez, Extremadura.

Gravity dam made with concrete with a height from foundations of 16 meters and a crest lenght of 331 meters. Spillway with central fixed lip with meters, a design flow of 8,3 m3/s and its waters are restored to the river through a trampoline (energy damping element).

Navarredonda Reservoir belongs to the Cuenca del Tajo (Tajo River Basin) anda has a capacity of 0,968 hm3

Zarza de Montanchez Municipality

The municipality of Zarza de Montánchez is located in the province of Cáceres, is located in the south of the province and is part of the Sierra de Montánchez region. It has a total extension of 36 km2 and a population of 622 inhabitants, thus having a population density of 16.8 inhabitants/km2.
