Rincon de la Victoria - Málaga

The municipality of Rincón de la Victoria is 27.51 km2 and is situated in a privileged location: adjacent to the city of Malaga, while at the same time being the gateway to the region of La Axarquia. The location lets you enjoy a subtropical climate where traditional upland crops (vines, olive trees, almond trees) are giving way to other markedly tropical crops (avocados, mangoes, etc..) Due to a mild winter climate where the temperature rarely drops below 10 degrees, Rincon can offer sunshine almost every day of the year.

Rincon de la Victoria is very well connected to the rest of the Andalusian capitals, as passing through the municipality is the Autovia Mediterraneo (A7-E15). This road provides direct access to Malaga International Airport in 15 minutes and the centre of the city of Malaga is omly12 kilometres away and can be accessed by the various exits from the A7 or the Ma-24 (old N-340). The magnificent location and the friendly nature of its people make it one of the fastest growing towns of Andalucía. The demographics of Rincon consist of 4 distinct population centers: La Cala del Moral, Rincón de la Victoria, Torre Benagalbón and Benagalbón, the first three being along the coastal strip and the last to the interior.

The 9km of quiet beaches offer tourists all means necessary to enjoy their vacation, since in recent years, these beaches all have the Blue Flag awarded by the European Union.

Gastronomy

The cuisine of Rincon de la Victoria is marked by the freshness of the fish. King fish is the "Victorian anchovy" (boquerón victoriano). You can also taste here the delicious grilled sardines, served with Zoque (traditional gazpacho).

Other typical dishes are the maimones (soup with bread, tomato, oil, garlic and clams), fennel soup, cabbage, etc... As well as traditional Chirstmas borrachuelos and fritters. All washed down with good wine form neighboring Moclinejo.

Highlights also fruits such as fig, pear, muscat grapes, avocado, mango, etc.

Directions

Because of its coastal location, the only route to Rincón de la Victoria is the Mediterranean Expressway (A-7, N-340), which on reaching the town is divided into two branches, but Rincon accessible from both, whether from the Costa del Sol, in which case take the one towards Motril-Almería, or  the East, in which case follow the direction Málaga-Cádiz.
