The Torre del Águila Dam & Reservoir
The Torre del Aguila dam and reservoir is located in the municipalities of Utrera, El Coronil and Montellano, in the province of Seville. The reservoir was created by damming the Arroyo Salado de Morón River.
The reservoir belong to the Hydrographic Confederation of the Guadalquivir (Seville area) and was built in 1947.
Features
The reservoir covers an area
of 479 km2, has an average annual rainfall of 743 mm and an
average annual contribution of 83,6 hm3.
The type of the Torre del Aguila Dam is compacted earth with core of clay and masonry in the interior of the dam, has a coronation length of 290
m and a height above the
bed of 29 m.
The reservoir of Torre del Aguila has a capacity of 70 hm3 and a surface of 993 hectares.
