Peligros
Peligros is to be found to the north of the vega de Granada, where it meets the foothills of Sierra Arana.
It borders the municipalities of , , , Maracena and .
The rise of Peiigros was in the first instance as a Roman settlement which had the name of ‘Paliculum’, recorded in a traditional ‘votiva’ found near the neighboring village of Jun.
In the Visigoth era it was already taken to be a parish or place where they held church services.
In the Arab period it became known as "Bericlox" and was known as a rich farmhouse of the Vega of Granada, and it was in this municipality where the famous battle of ‘Higueruela’ took place, in which the blood of the Christian and Arab troops stained the streams of the area in the wake of the conquest of , this having been a victory for the Catholic troops, and legend has it that the fig trees of the region originated there.
With the reconquest the area became depopulated and was only repopulated thanks to the settlers who came from Castellan and northern Spain. It was not until the nineteenth century when the region again became famous for the quality of its extraordinary wines (they were servants of the royal house) and also for the production of quality silk, a legacy the Arabic past of the area.

In Peligros rice is one of its culinary excellences, especially when cooked with game meats. Also, rabbit, partridge or kid cooked in various styles. Peas, chickpeas and wheat are also to be found in most traditional recipes.

Leaving Granada. Take Carretera de Jaén. Go straight towards: Maracena - La Cueva. At the roundabout, take exit 3 and continue along: E-902 / A-44 heading to Jaén. Pass near Maracena. Take the exit towards: Exit 122 – Poligono Industrial and arrive at Peligros.
