Nerja - Malaga

Nerja is situated in the eastern most part of the province and its municipal area has a boundary with the province of Granada. Málaga is 55 km distant and the town is 30 metres above sea level.

The town has 14.5 km of coastline and its highest peaks are those of Navachica (1,800 m), Cuesta del Cielo (1,505 m), tajo del Almendrón (1,514 m), Castillejos (932 m) and los cerros del Sol (584 m) and Mangüeno (386 m).

The most important rivers are the Chillar and la Miel, as well as Cantarriján ravines, on the border with the province of Granada, and la Coladilla and the Maro. Close to the town is the Cueva de Nerja.

The resort is 55 kilometres from Malaga, records an average rainfall of 460 l/m2 and the average annual temperature is approximately 20 ° C.

Because of where Nerja is situated on theCosta del Sol, there is no need to take the Autovia Mediterraneo (A-7, N-340) as, from any point on the Málaga coast,to go to Nerja, simply follow directions towards Motril-Almería
