Jun

The municipality of Jun together with the municipalities of Alfacar, Viznar, Pulianas and Peligros, form the northeast area of the belt around the depression or hollow of Granada.
With an area of 3.40 km2, the municipality of Jun is limited to west by that of Pulianas, to the north by that of Alfacar, to the east by Viznar and to the south by that of Granada.

It is one of the municipalities that also form part of the depression or hollow, and can be thought of as a border, together with Pulianas and Peligros to the north of the municipality of Granada. The distance between the capital in Jun and is 1.5 km

The origin of Jun dates back at least to Roman times and then it had to be one of the many farmhouses that Muslims built around Granada, in all the area where you could hear the ringing of the bell of the Torre de la Vela de la Alhambra.

Its real development, however, has taken place in the last third of the twentieth century having become a ‘dormitory town’ for many ‘Granadinos’ working in the capital and others who have built a second home here, hence the appearance of numerous developments despite its lack of land area, and the many modern buildings in the old town.
