Hinojos

Hinojos is a town in the province of Huelva with 3624 inhabitants and an area of 31,900 hectares, 11,000 of which are located in the Doñana National Park and another 13 300 hectares make up part of the Natural Park. The inhabitants are known as Hinojero / a. Located at the southern tip of the Province of Huelva, it is 60 km from the capital, and 39 km from Seville.

During the Roman era it was known as Ominum. In the Al-Andalus period it was an important centre for a vast area. After the Christian conquest it became dependent on the regime of Realengo a Sevilla, forming part of the Campo de Tejada. From the Christian conquest until the nineteenth century it saw a decline in population.

Directions

From Seville, take the A49 motorway in the direction of Huelva, and take the Chucena-Hinojos exit.
From Huelva. Leave Huelva. Continue on the "Autopista del Quinto Centenario" in the direction of the H-31 - Sevilla. Continue on the H-31. Follow the E-1 / A-49, passing near Chucena. Take the exit marked: salida 34 - Chucena - Hinojos. Continue on the A-481. Pass through Torrecuadrada and you will arrive at Hinojos.
