Guaro - Valle del Guadalhorce - Málaga
The village of Guaro is situated between the Costa del Sol and the Sierra de las Nieves, being the gateway to the Natural Park which lies all around this natural area, and which has been designated by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve. This gives some idea of the beauty of the setting, just a short distance away from all the hustle and bustle along the coast. In Guaro you can still enjoy the tradition of a farming town that has managed to incorporate into everyday life the most modern advances with all the amenities for residents and tourists.
The bright corners dotted along the streets are a pleasure to walk by and these are a sure protection and therapy against stress. The typical whitewashed walls hung with flowers are especially attractive to visitors and locals alike.
The topography of the municipality is mostly undulating with an altitude ranging between 200 and 500 metres and an average gradient of 26%. The main agricultural lands are in the area known as “Ardite”, with plenty of young olive groves and land for sowing and planting.
