Cuevas del Becerro - Málaga
The municipality of Cuevas del Becerro is situated north of the Comarca de Ronda, at the border of that of , surrounded by the (905 m) and the cerro de los Tercios (948 m). It is 20 kilometres from and 105km from the capital, Malaga. The town is over 730 metres above sea level, the area has an average rainfall of 820 l/m2 and the average temperature is 15 º C.
Cuevas del Becerro a small sierra town with a Mozarabic layout with whitewashed houses where stands the Iglesia de San Antonio Abad. It can be seen that there is not so much a wealth of architectural heritage but more of archaeological sites and remains, most notably the medieval castle of the cerro de Castillon. The archaeological importance of the town is linked to the Roman era, and it is there that there exists one of the most important sites throughout the area: the Casas de las Viñas. Other interesting places to visit are the Cueva del Moro, where you can go caving, and the fuente del Nacimiento.

Cuevas del Becerro is an agricultural and livestock town which produces good goat’s cheese, wheat, oil, sunflowers, chickpeas, ‘matltahuga’and from a wide variety of candy, the famous ‘suspiros’.
Directions
To get from Malaga to Cuevas del Becerro, there are two options:
1.- From the central zone, depart from Malaga on the road that leads to Pizarra, passing Alora and Ardales, once past the latter population you have to be careful, since after about 2 km, take a left hand junction signposted Ronda, after this intersection, continue to the end of the road, which leads to another crossroad, again turn left direction Ronda, this new road leads to Cuevas del Becerro, with an approximate journey time of 50 minutes.
2.- From the Costa del Sol, if you leave Malaga, in the direction ofTorremolinos, you can enjoy the sea views offered by the Costa del Sol, follow this direction until past Fuengirola and Marbella and arrive in San Pedro de Alcantara, where you take the direction of Ronda, and once you get to Ronda, continue towards Campillos, and after some ten minutes after passing through Ronda, we arrive at Cuevas after a journey of about 90 minutes.
