Canillas de Albaida is a small town filled with narrow streets, steep and immaculately white. It sits on a hill overlooking the terraced slopes of rich gardens of vines, cereals and olive groves, offering a beautiful overview in which stands the Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Expectacion. Within the local environment there is an area known as the la Fabrica, which is ideal for camping and hiking. El paraje de Las Cuestas is a winding road of Arab origin, so too is the bridge. Close to la Fabrica de la Luz you can find the Cueva de las Piletas, although the largest and best known are the Cueva del Agua and the Cueva del Conejo.

By the Autovia Mediterraneo, level with Algarrobo-Costa, take the A-6203. After leaving Albarrogo and Sayalonga, there is a junction, one road leading to Archez and the other to Competa. You can take either one or the other, because both villages are only a few kilometres from Canillas de Albaida.
Gastronomy
Some of the dishes which have become famous are fennel stew, white garlic, kid “aliñao” and fried squash. There are also delicious donuts that are made by hand during the popular fiestas.
