Benarrabá - Málaga

Benarrabá is located in the Serranía de Ronda. We can observe a landscape with a spectacular beauty: cork trees, chestnuts, pine trees and gall-oaks... Benarrabá is a busy village that lives on the forestry, farming and cattle; it has a huge prestige in the craft manufacture of by-products the pork. The pork butcher’s is one of the typical products of its gastronomy, such as blood sausages, hard pork sausages and salami-type sausages that you can taste for all year.

Banu-Rabbah (Rabbah’s Children), was the tribe of Benimerines who inhabited the valley of Genal.

From the Roman Age there are some remains in Port of Eras. It also had a road which passes in the neighborhood and that joined the Roman cities of Lacipo and Arunda. During Islamic Age comes out the Berber township and at the end of the period it is known with its actual name.
