Atajate - Serranía de Ronda - Málaga
Atajate is located between the valleys of Guadiaro and Genal, it occupies a exceptional position in this area of the White villages and the Serranía of Ronda. We can observe a landscape in which the olive groves, vineyards and cereal fields live together with the holm oaks, cork trees and thickets that cover the rocky places and the forests.
This village has its origin in an Arab fortification at the beginning of the VIII century, and because of its strategic position in the road that joins the Campo de Gibraltar with Ronda, has had an important role in several historic times.
