Archidona - Málaga
The municipality of Archidona is located in the Northeast Region of the province of Malaga, on the foothills of the Sierra de Gracia, at a height of 660 metres above sea level. The township has an area of 187 km2 and hosts a population of around 8,475 inhabitants.
In 1980 the area was declared historic-artistic, and maintains a rich heritage of the past.
The declaration applied to a total of ten monuments. Archidona offers, with its rich and historic urban landscape, the allure of its natural surroundings that encourages the practice of rural tourism and sports: hiking, mountain biking etc. There are two recommended routes to view the natural scenic beauty and ecological interest: La Hoz del Arroyo Marín and Lagunas de Archidona.
As for its history, has its roots in the remote prehistoric times, forward to the present time. From the Lower and Middle Paleolithic ages, through the successive phases of prehistory, the evidence of pre-Roman settlement, the presence of Rome, the early stages of Archidona in the context of Al Andalus, the town became linked to the Duke of Osuna, and finally became a City in 1901, and then was declared a historical site in 1980, as mentioned above.

Some typical dishes of Archidona are Moorish, the egg “guisillo”, and Archidona porridge, eaten with wine.
Sweets: Mantex buns (made with butter) various sweet oils, fried donuts and fritters, along with the famous "Nuns little candy."
Directions
The N-331 (A-45) leads directly from Malaga to the A-92, which is the route to be followed (towards Granada) to reach the diversion to the A-6200, which leads to Archidona.
