The Sevillian town of Alcalá de Guadaira is very extensive and has great geographical variety. The three distint areas are the hill (the first location of the city centre), the countryside or fertile plain (towards the East of the present inner city) and the terraces (to the North of the township). With a mild climate, fertile soils and plenty of water this area provides ideal conditions for raisining animals and vegetables. This has enabled the town to be self- suficient.
Alcalá de Guadaira is one of the more populated and industrious towns of the metropolitan area; Alcalá has both, its succesfull present and a very ancient past. Human activities haved been recorded here since historic times, in those times the habitat has gradually centred round two main essential spaces: Gandul area and the hill that the Alcareño Castle occupies.
Location
Alcalá de Guadaira is located 15 Km to the south-east of Sevilla and it is 92 metres above sea level. It shares northern border with Sevilla and Carmona, north-east with Mairena del Alcor, east with Carmona and Arahal, south with Utrera, Los Molares and Los Palacios and to the west with Dos Hermanas.

How to get there
From Sevilla go out towards Luis Montoto and continue along the dual carriageway A-92, until 6 km from Sevilla at the crossroads Mairena del Alcor - Alcalá de Guadaira, take A-392 towards Alcalá.
